The MPU6050 (GY-521) is a high-performance 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) motion tracking module that combines a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope on a single chip. It communicates via the I2C interface, making it easy to interface with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers. The sensor is capable of measuring motion, tilt, acceleration, and rotation with high accuracy, making it ideal for robotics, gesture-based controls, drones, and gaming devices. The GY-521 breakout board provides onboard voltage regulation and pull-up resistors for easy integration.
