The IC 7447, also labeled as SN74LS47N, is a BCD (Binary-Coded Decimal) to 7-Segment Decoder/Driver from the 74LS (Low Power Schottky) TTL logic family. It is specifically designed to drive common-anode 7-segment displays by converting 4-bit BCD inputs into the appropriate display outputs (a to g).
The IC includes features such as ripple-blanking input/output and lamp test functionality, making it well-suited for applications where numeric displays are needed. With open-collector outputs capable of sinking current, the SN74LS47N can directly drive LED segments through external resistors.
Ideal for display modules, counters, clocks, and measurement devices, this decoder simplifies the connection between digital logic circuits and user interfaces.
